Fast bowler Anshul Kamboj has been added to the Indian squad as a replacement for the injured Prasidh Krishna ahead of the third and final ODI against the West Indies.
Prasidh Krishna has been ruled out of the third match
Prasidh Krishna sustained a hamstring injury after bowling just five overs during the second ODI in Guwahati. Although India has secured an unassailable lead in the series with a commanding eight-wicket victory, the injury has ruled Krishna out of the final match scheduled for October 3 in New Chandigarh.
Following the injury, national selectors turned to Kamboj, who was actively playing for India A against Australia A. The Haryana pacer had claimed 3 for 34 in a disciplined 17.3-over spell during the first innings of that match and bowled two tight overs in the second before leaving the camp midway to join the senior national team.
Kamboj’s selection is the result of consistent performances across all formats. He was the highest wicket-taker for Chennai Super Kings in the 2026 IPL season and had previously made his Test debut for India against England in Manchester in July 2025. However, this marks his maiden call-up to India’s white-ball squad.

While Kamboj has joined the team, breaking into the playing XI immediately poses a challenge. Senior pacer Mohammed Siraj, who was not selected for the first two ODIs, is the frontrunner to replace Krishna. Nevertheless, should the team management decide to rotate the pace attack (perhaps alongside Siraj), Kamboj could be handed his ODI debut.
