In the final in Nisshin on Saturday, India’s men’s cricket team defeated Pakistan by 19 runs to win the gold medal at the Asian Games 2026. Pakistan scored 192 for 6 in response to Shreyas Iyer‘s team’s 20 overs of 211 for 6. The triumph extended the country’s excellent T20 cricket performance for the entire year and was a major accomplishment for Indian cricket at the continental competition.
The batting performances of Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Verma were pivotal in the gold medal match. India achieved a competitive total thanks to the foundation provided by Sharma’s 61 runs and Verma’s undefeated 51. Throughout the game, Axar Patel also made valiant contributions.
