The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already begun preparations to make the 20th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) a memorable one. The board has convened a crucial meeting in Mumbai on October 15 to plan for this special season, scheduled for 2027. Attendees will include IPL franchise owners, broadcasters, and representatives from the state cricket associations that host the matches.
The BCCI has taken this decision with the aim of organizing the upcoming season on a grand scale. Discussions regarding making the 20th IPL season special also took place during the board’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).
BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia announced details of the meeting on October 9, 2026. The meeting is likely to be held at 6 PM at the Taj Santacruz Hotel in Mumbai. However, the venue had not been finally confirmed at the time of writing; the board is expected to make a decision on this soon.
