In the one-off Test in Abu Dhabi, Bangladesh chose to bat first on a dry surface after winning the toss. Tanzid Hasan put early pressure on the visitors as he blasted away against the Afghanistan attack, scoring 83 off 71 deliveries in the first session. After giving up 15 runs in the fifth over, Yamin Ahmadzai took the brunt of the aggressive batting.
Just before tea on the first day, Afghanistan’s fast bowlers scored three wickets to bring their team back into the match. After Mohammad Saleem made a breakthrough earlier in the session, Yamin Ahmadzai claimed two wickets. Rahmat Shah, the captain of Afghanistan, made a straightforward catch after Ahmadzai caught Mominul in the covers for 39 while the ball remained on the pitch despite Mominul’s feeble push.

Ahmadzai then used a brilliant yorker to bowl Mushfiqur Rahim for a seven-ball duck. We were trying to stay in one channel and let them play their shots in accordance with their plan because they were coming a little aggressively after the first session, but we were not going to alter our plan,” Ahmadzai stated, as cited.
Litton Kumar Das was removed in the latter part of the day by Yamin Ahmadzai, who also made a deft catch to put Afghanistan in the tail. As Afghanistan attempted to limit Bangladesh’s first-innings total, the catch illustrated his contribution outside of the bowling crease. At an economy rate of 3.87, Ahmadzai concluded with 16 overs, 3 maidens, 62 runs, and 2 wickets. Indeed, I was adjusting my wrist position to achieve a reverse swing. Afghanistan’s wickets are not particularly conducive to bowlers. Thus, you have to try something new each time,” Ahmadzai remarked.

Prior to the ball that removed Mushfiqur, Yamin Ahmadzai had bowled numerous deliveries on the fifth and sixth stump lines in an attempt to bring him into play along his natural line. Yamin Ahmadzai changed his approach with a straighter delivery that abruptly reversed course when the batter refused to be drawn. I was attempting to get him to play in my line by bowling a lot of my balls on the fifth and sixth stumps prior to this. Sadly, that was not what he was doing.
He continued, “I decided to go one straighter all of a sudden, and it reversed a little and I got his wicket. “Back home, I was trying to build up this angle from wider of the crease while working alongside the coaches. Ahmadzai stated, “I try to take the ball away from the batter because most bowlers bring it into the batter from that angle.”
