In a major leadership shake-up ahead of the 2027 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, Delhi Capitals have appointed former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly as their new head coach. Ganguly replaces Hemang Badani, marking his first official stint as a head coach in the league.
While Sourav Ganguly has long been associated with the franchise in an advisory capacity—specifically as the ‘Director of Cricket’ for the JSW-GMR-owned Delhi Capitals and its sister franchises—this new appointment sees him directly taking charge of on-field tactics and team preparation.
