There has been considerable discussion recently regarding the injury status of Indian team star all-rounder Hardik Pandya. Due to injury, the experienced player has been unable to return to action since the IPL 2026 season.
Although Hardik Pandya was slated to make a comeback during the ODI series against Australia A on October 6, a fresh injury forced him to withdraw not only from that series but also from the upcoming white-ball series against New Zealand.
Amidst this, former Indian captain and legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev has offered significant advice regarding Hardik Pandya’s injury. The former World Cup winner explained how Hardik could minimize the risk of injury.
Kapil Dev’s major statement regarding Hardik Pandya
When asked what Pandya should do to remain consistently available, Kapil Dev told *The Times of India*, “He should play more cricket.”
Kapil added, “I don’t know. But the more you play, the more your body adapts to it. If you play sparingly and suddenly increase your workload, the likelihood of injury rises. If your muscles are conditioned, the risk of injury decreases. Hardik can reduce the risk of injury to some extent by playing more.”

Meanwhile, the Indian cricket team is grappling with injuries to several players beyond just Hardik Pandya. Additionally, Harshit Rana is facing fitness-related issues.
