Following a slow start to the home series against Zimbabwe in Vadodara, India’s star batter Smriti Mandhana has lost her top spot in the ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings. Mandhana’s rating points dropped after she scored 32 runs in the first match and was dismissed for a duck (zero) in the second ODI, allowing South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt to reclaim the number 1 ranking.

Although India has already secured the three-match series by winning the first two games, Mandhana’s dip in form opened the door for Wolvaardt to regain the top position. Despite slipping in the 50-over format, Mandhana found some consolation in the T20I rankings, moving up one spot to fourth, while her teammate Shafali Verma climbed to third place among T20I batters.
While Mandhana struggled with her form, her teammates Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepti Sharma saw significant improvements in their rankings following their centuries in the second ODI. Harmanpreet moved up two places to eighth in the ODI batting rankings, while Deepti jumped four spots to reach 23rd. Deepti’s stellar all-round performance was evident across the board; she climbed two places to fourth in the ODI all-rounder rankings and reached eighth in the bowling rankings.
