Talk of a trade deal involving star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has once again gained momentum ahead of IPL 2027. However, this time it is the franchises rather than the player himself showing interest in a trade. That said, earlier media reports had claimed that Hardik was personally in touch with several teams.
Among the teams that have approached the Mumbai Indians franchise, one has shown serious interest in trading for the 32-year-old all-rounder. Mumbai Indians have previously held discussions with Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders, though these are not the only teams in the race for a trade deal.
Reports suggest that it will become clear within the next three to four weeks which IPL team Hardik Pandya will join. The IPL trading window remains open until a week before the auction window begins, while all 10 teams face a deadline of November 15 to finalize their player retention and release lists.
Will Hardik Pandya join CSK?
There are certain complexities regarding CSK. Zaheer Khan is understood to hold a senior role at Chennai Super Kings; his past association with Mumbai Indians is a factor that could influence negotiations between the two clubs. It remains unclear whether this connection will facilitate a potential deal or complicate it.

With the November 15 retention deadline approaching and the auction scheduled for mid-December in Goa, any franchise wishing to acquire Pandya via trade will need to accelerate its efforts. For now, Mumbai Indians appear willing to listen to offers without rushing into a decision.
