India defeated Pakistan by 19 runs in the final at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin on October 3 to keep the Asian Games men’s cricket gold. After winning the toss and opting to bat first, the Indian team scored 211 for 6, while Pakistan’s innings ended at 192 for 6. India won back-to-back gold medals in men’s cricket at the Asian Games.
After the game, India’s wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson gave his thoughts on the team’s performance. Ahmed Daniyal of Pakistan removed Samson for two off four balls during India’s innings. Speaking on the triumph, Samson underlined that preparation and consistent effort were what led to the gold medal.
Sanju Samson gave his thoughts on the team’s performance
Our staff had a wealth of experience. The experience of seasoned players can help with that. Sanju Samson was cited as saying, “We knew how to control our energy, how to stay motivated and focused even when practices and games weren’t happening.”
The makeup of the Indian team was a major factor in their championship triumph. The team’s performance was improved by sending the normal T20 squad to the Asian Games. Sanju Samson recognised the influence of this tactical choice on the outcome. Bringing in the “A” team proved to be very beneficial, as was the case in the final versus Pakistan. Samson stated, “I believe it was a proper game for everyone.”
India’s triumph was made possible by their batting prowess in the first innings. India reached 211 for 6 thanks to half-centuries from Tilak Varma and Abhishek Sharma. Samson considered how the team’s first-innings total affected how they approached the game. We were able to play a good game at last.

We believed Pakistan would have a tough second innings after we reached 200 in the first, but they batted well and had a nice wicket. Everyone witnessed a successful final. The gold was not handed to us on a platter. We had to put forth a lot of effort. We are all pleased, and that makes it much more fulfilling,” Samson remarked.
The two sides engaged in a competitive match in the championship game. Although India’s bowling and fielding efforts eventually sealed the 19-run lead, Pakistan’s batting unit reacted effectively to India’s score. Sanju Samson’s analysis emphasised that the team’s diligence and preparation during the competition had paid off with a well-earned triumph.
