The third match of the ongoing ODI series between India and West Indies was played on October 3 at the PCA International Cricket Stadium, New Chandigarh. West Indies secured a five-wicket victory, driven by a captain’s knock from Shai Hope.
Chasing a massive target of 352 runs set by India, Hope played a blistering innings of 162* off 143 balls, featuring 17 fours and 3 sixes. Despite this loss, India clinched the three-match ODI series 2-1.
West Indies Beat India by 5 Wickets
Regarding the match details, Ind won the toss and elected to bat first. The Indian team posted a total of 351 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. However, India did not get off to a great start; captain Shubman Gill (1) and Virat Kohli (dismissed for a golden duck) returned to the pavilion early.
Nevertheless, openers Rohit Sharma (92) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (57) steadied the innings, while KL Rahul played a pivotal role in taking the team to a strong total by remaining unbeaten on 129* off 87 balls.
In terms of West Indies’ bowling, pacer Jayden Seales claimed 3 wickets, while Keemo Paul took 2 and Gudakesh Motie took 1.

Subsequently, when West Indies set out to chase the target of 352, they achieved it in 48.2 overs for the loss of five wickets. While Hope scored 162*, Amir Jangoo contributed 67 runs. For Ind, Mohammed Siraj, Gurnoor Brar, Kuldeep Yadav, and Naman Dhir claimed one wicket each.
