The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the Indian squad for the T20 series against New Zealand on the evening of Tuesday, October 6. Notably, fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has returned to the team after a long hiatus of nearly four years.
India’s tour of New Zealand begins on October 22 and comprises a five-match T20I series, a five-match ODI series, and a two-match Test series. Shreyas Iyer will lead the Indian team in the T20 series against New Zealand.

Meanwhile, stylish left-handed batter Tilak Varma has been appointed as Shreyas’s deputy. Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan have retained their spots as wicketkeepers.
However, Samson will be the first-choice wicketkeeper. Naman Dhir, who made his T20 debut against the West Indies, has earned a spot in the squad for the T20I series in New Zealand.
