Subsequently, when India set out to chase the target of 172 runs, they achieved it comfortably in 14.4 overs, losing only 2 wickets. For India, captain Shreyas Iyer played an unbeaten innings of 102 runs off 43 balls—hitting 10 fours and 6 sixes—while Ishan Kishan scored 37 runs. In the bowling department for the West Indies, Akeal Hosein and Roston Chase claimed one wicket each.
