Ishan Kishan, an Indian wicketkeeper-batter, will not play in the third Twenty20 International against New Zealand on October 27. On Monday, October 26, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that he is still recuperating from an injury.
Ishan Kishan has been ruled out of the third T20I
The left-handed hitter suffered a minor injury to his right adductor muscle during the opening game of the five-match series on October 22. He was unable to play in the second game due to this injury. The team management does not want to hasten his return because medical evaluations show that he needs more time before he can play again.
“Ishan Kishan is recovering well from a low-grade adductor strain, which he sustained during the first T20I against New Zealand,” the BCCI said in an official statement.
“He is not yet fully fit to play, so he will remain unavailable for the third T20I in Wellington on October 27,” the statement continued. His recuperation is being observed by the BCCI medical staff. For the third Twenty20 International, Kumar Kushagra will stay in the team.
